Together, they co-authored The Zone Warriors, Aleksei’s first novel for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. It was his Chernobyl memories that influenced his decision to accept the offer of contributing to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. – Russia’s most popular SF novel series. In the process of novel research, the two co-authors visited the Chernobyl nuclear power station and traveled across the entire Exclusion Zone, witnessing many deserted towns and villages, including the ill-fated towns of Chernobyl and Prypiat. Andrei wrote several books for the project, after which he was voted the series‘ most popular author.
